Heart-health care that actually feels like care.
We’re a specialist Cambridge clinic for people with high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, or worries about their heart — looked after by senior consultants from Cambridge University Hospitals who help write the UK’s national hypertension guidelines.
You don’t need a GP referral — most of our patients book themselves in.
Deep expertise in high blood pressure.
Professor Ian Wilkinson, one of our consultants, is President of the British and Irish Hypertension Society and has contributed to UK hypertension guidance. Our consultants have advised on national cardiovascular prevention work and are active in hypertension research.
You're seen by consultants whose day-to-day work is high blood pressure and cardiovascular prevention.
The kind of clinic you wish existed.
We help patients whose blood pressure has been hard to control, who’ve been told their cholesterol is high, or who simply want a thorough, expert look at their heart-health risk — without feeling rushed through a 10-minute slot.
Every appointment is with one of our senior consultants — never a trainee.
We can arrange the scans, monitors and blood tests you need — quickly, and only when they’ll genuinely help.
Same standards, governance and oversight you’d expect from the NHS — because we live there too.
Most patients are seen within 5–7 working days of getting in touch.
The things we see most often.
Hypertension management
Specialist diagnosis and treatment of high blood pressure — straightforward or complex.
Lipid management & preventive cardiology
Modern, personalised cholesterol management to protect you from heart attacks and strokes.
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
A 24-hour blood pressure recording that gives a much truer picture than a single clinic reading.
Holter & rhythm monitoring
Wearable heart-rhythm recording to investigate palpitations, dizzy spells or unexplained symptoms.
Echocardiography (heart ultrasound)
An EACVI-accredited heart-ultrasound service for an accurate, expert assessment of your heart.
Cardiovascular risk assessment
A thorough, individualised assessment of your future risk of heart attack and stroke — and what to do about it.
Weight and blood pressure are closely linked. Assessing them together is an important part of modern cardiovascular risk reduction.
Weight and blood pressure move together. Evidence shows that even a modest 5–10% reduction in body weight is associated with meaningful reductions in blood pressure — for some people this can support a reduction in medication doses, always under clinical review. The reverse is also true: unrecognised hypertension and its knock-on effects on insulin resistance make sustained weight change much harder.
Cardiometabolic medicine is a fast-moving area of preventive cardiology. Recent evidence, including large cardiovascular outcome trials, indicates that assessing weight, blood pressure and metabolic risk together — rather than in isolation — can be relevant to a person's long-term risk of heart attack, stroke and heart failure.
Our cardiometabolic service assesses weight, blood pressure, insulin resistance, cholesterol, fatty liver and family history in one consultant-led plan — combining practical lifestyle change, targeted blood-pressure and lipid treatment, and, where clinically appropriate following individual assessment, a discussion of the licensed prescription options relevant to your situation.
A specialist team.

Ian has spent more than 30 years helping people with high blood pressure — particularly when it’s been hard to control, when it appears at a young age, or when something less obvious is driving it. He currently leads the British and Irish Hypertension Society and helped write the national guidelines that GPs and specialists across the UK use today. Patients tell us they appreciate that he explains things clearly, takes time to listen, and never makes them feel rushed.

Joseph is a consultant physician with extensive experience in hypertension, lipid disorders and cardiovascular risk. He looks after patients with high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, and a higher risk of heart problems — and is also actively involved in the research that brings newer, better treatments into everyday practice. He is known for being approachable, methodical, and for taking the time to make sure each patient really understands what’s going on and what their options are.

Johann is a Consultant Physician at Cambridge University Hospitals with a special interest in patients whose blood pressure or heart-health problems are linked to hormones, weight or metabolism. He works closely with the rest of the team when a patient has more than one thing going on at once. His patients describe him as calm, careful and reassuring — and very good at explaining the bigger picture without using jargon.

Navazh leads the heart-ultrasound (echocardiography) service at the clinic. An echocardiogram is one of the most useful and least invasive tests we have — it shows how the heart muscle is moving, how the valves are working, and how well the heart is pumping. Getting it done well, and read accurately, makes a real difference to your diagnosis and the plan that follows. Navazh is one of a small number of physiologists in the UK accredited at the highest international level in echocardiography. He oversees the technical standards that make our centre an EACVI-accredited echo centre — meaning every scan you have here is performed and reported to international best-practice standards. Patients tell us he is calm, easy to understand, and very thorough.
